New Horizons is Dublin author Desmond O’Malley’s first major work. It comprises twenty-one short stories, five poems, a novella and three literary biographical essays.
Romance, homelessness, poverty, loneliness, a maritime tragedy, alcoholism, faith and belief all feature in this collection. It will be apparent to thoughtful readers that Des is also very conscious of our Celtic heritage, as evidenced by his long epic Flight of the Spirit. New Horizons also contains critical essays such as the profile of Margaret Woffington the renowned Irish actress.
