Paddy FitzGibbon’s latest work, The Second Mister, is a joyous encounter with the wit and wisdom of a writer in full satirical flow. It is a snappy collection that resuscitates some sleepy dragons of history and folklore, together with anecdotal humour.
The book should carry a health warning. It is funny!

Politics
The common man must realise
That he’s been made a fool,
The charlatans that he elects
Could scarcely lead a mule.
So think of princes and of kings !
Think of a golden age !
Their noble mien that lifts us up
Illumines history’s page !
Stand up my friend down on the ground
Unbow your tousled head,
For like the finest pigs and dogs,
All royalty is bred.
