For many people getting to the big GAA matches over the years there was only one option – take the train or get the bus, now the links between CIE and THE GAA are explored in a new book.

Buses, Trains and Gaelic Games by John Cassidy, a Dublin Bus Inspector in Donnybrook garage, will be launched in Rabbitts Pub, Forster Street, on Thursday December 10 by former GAA President Joe McDonagh.

This meticulously researched book covers the involvement of CIE staff in GAA activities, with a large section covering GAA activities in CIE Galway.

CIE staff, both past and present, and their families and friends are invited to GO along to the launch. The author along with many of Galway GAA stars will be in attendance.
